I purchased this land several years ago after a loss of a child a daughter her named was joLisa, it was a life changing moment, teaching me that family and enjoying of life is what it all about... so I want to welcome you here to Malakai for a peaceful and relaxing time, it's even a place that may help you heal from life hardships... At 5 o'clock before the Sun comes up it is time for you to go out on to the deck and listen to the birds sing. As the Sun starts to rise on a new day we have dozens of species of birds from the great bald eagle which we have a mating pair that comes by, too blue herrings, bluebirds, blue jays, mocking birds, doves and several other species and occasionally a couple small black bears like walking through, we want you to have a peaceful and relaxing stay here while you visit everything the Garson Point and our beaches have to offer. It's official -- we are a park and a preserve.....9 acres of 🚶‍♂️ trails 👣 History of our location Count De Galvez awarded a land grant on Garcon Point to Antonio Garzon following his 1781 Siege of Pensacola in consideration of “his good services rendered as an interpreter to the Indians of Pensacola." The grant was held for 35 years before Maria Garzon, who survived husband Antonio, sold the land they called Garzon’s Point to Joseph (Jose) Bonifay. The land uses were favorable for cattle grazing and turpentining through the 1800s. Many more pioneer families moved into the area and began their own business in the booming industrial opportunities of western Florida. It came to be known as Yellow River Marsh State Buffer Preserve on June 12, 2000, when it was purchased by the state of Florida to protect rare and environmentally sensitive lands, plants and animals. Through generous donations, Preservation 2000 and the Florida Forever Program, more land was added to protect contiguous habitat of the Garcon Ecosystem. Today Yellow River Marsh Preserve State Park provides recreational opportunities for hiking and nature study along the Great Florida Birding Trail among rare and endemic plant species and within one of Florida’s oldest multi-cultural frontiers.The preserve is located in Santa Rosa County on Garcon Point, which separates Escambia Bay from Blackwater Bay. Nearly 20 rare and endangered species of plants and animals make their homes along the bay and its wet prairies, dome swamps and flatwoods.

Very quiet, secluded, close to the beaches but far enough away to get out of the busy city life. Showers and amenities are available and is a huge plus. Gated access as well! Very nice place.

Joseph was an amazing host who went above and beyond. He was helpful and friendly and accommodating and knew what he was doing and is my go to guy for this now. Will definitely be returning and couldn’t recommend him enough for others.

What a wonderful way to start off our first Hipcamp experience! Everything was as advertised and Joseph was just a blessing! He was prompt to respond and then super welcoming and helpful upon arrival. Perfect little tent campsite in close proximity to a bathroom with a shower and access to water and an electric outlet. Brought our doggy and had a comfortable, peaceful nights sleep after a grill session over the campfire! Would definitely return if ever in the area! CHEERS!

Favourite Milton Camping
Joe was an incredible host and our stay could not have been better. Rustic accommodations but warm running water with good pressure in the bath house. Super friendly and helpful. Great location to Weber’s Skate World in Milton (for speed skaters 20 mins) and to Navarre beach (30 mins). Chill, relax, very safe and comfy.

Fantastic camping experience!!!
Joseph was a very gracious host and offered a better site for camping since there was a better available spot. The site was clean, well kept, secluded, secure, and offered luxury amenities like hot showers, washer and dryer, electrical hookup, hiking trails, gas grills, a nice fire pit and gated access. Highly recommend this site to anyone who wants a quiet getaway that offers luxury amenities at primitive camping prices. Thanks again Joseph!

Most go, is the place
Everything was amazing, Joseph is a wonderful person and the place is really good, the cabin was clean and very comfortable, the woods on the property are beautiful and you can walk around the trails, the fire place is amazing and there is plenty of wood to burn, it has a bbq a mi I porch to seat and watch the birds, is safe as the place is well illuminated and there are cameras all around. Joseph volunteered to take us to Walmart and buy groceries.
